Life Pharmacy Queensgate Classic Lady of the Carnival

The Lady of the Carnival featuring women’s classic race wear is the jewel of the Fashion in the Field crown, typically recording the highest number of category entries.  A more traditional sense of fashion is expected for entrants of this highly contested category. A hat (not fascinator) is a must for this category.
PRIZE: The most elegant gift basket of all things cosmetic that you could need courtesy of Life Pharmacy Queensgate 

Westfield Queensgate Contemporary Lady of the Carnival 

This category continues to seek encouragement of the raceday attire we are fast becoming familiar with being a more cocktail style of dress accompanied typically by fascinators. 
PRIZE: $3000 voucher from Westfield Queensgate  

Rembrandt Man of the Carnival 

The menswear category has taken off over recent years with unprecedented entrant numbers.  It is now commonplace for men to complete their outfits with accessories such as hats, gloves and canes. 
PRIZE: Custom Made to Measure Suit from Rembrandt

Pacific Jewellers Mature Lady of the Carnival 

The third outing of this category inviting the mature woman an opportunity to showcase their attire. Seeks woman over 50 as entry criteria.
PRIZE: A fabulous $2000 voucher from Pacific Jewellers 

Caci Clinic Lower Hutt Colour of the Carnival 

An exciting addition to the stable of categories which will see a public opinion poll each year to select the Colour of the Carnival.  This year is Pastels.  Showcase your pastel ensemble from top to toe. Creativity rules – but must be appropriate to wear for a day at the races!
PRIZE: TBC (sure to be just as fabulous as the other prizes)

Hat of the Carnival

It isn't a day at the races without a hat so for the first time in 2013 we are dedicating a category solely to the one thing that sets racing apart from any other fashion “a hat”. You will be judged on your entire outfit but the hat is the most important one for this category.
PRIZE: TBC (sure to be just as fabulous as the other prizes)

Winners from each category are then are finalist to take out the Gazley VW Supreme Fashion Winner title.

GAZLEY VW FASHION IN THE FIELD SUPREME WINNER FOR 2013
The Supreme Winner will be one the of the most photographed faces of the Pacific Jewellers Wellington Cup Carnival 2013 & will take away the prestigious prize for Gazley VW Fashion in the Field—12 months (20,000km) styling in a brand new VW Golf Cabriolet & a trip for two to Sydney!

Please note that due to time constraints of the racing, all categories will be limited to a maximum of 30 on a first come first served basis.

Conditions of entry
Entrants must fulfil the following criteria and acknowledge that they understand and agree to abide by the criteria as they register in order to be granted entry into Fashion in the Field.  

1. Entrants must be 18 years of age or more.  

2. Entrants and / or their outfits are not permitted to have any commercial agenda in entering the competition.  

3. Entrants must not receive any compensation from a third party for entering this competition.  

4. The Supreme Winner will be available for entry to the National final held at Ellerslie Racecourse in March.  

5. Entrants will be permitted to enter one category only.  

6. All entrants will be contact for a detailed summary of their outfit on parade 

7. Winner of a category in 2012 may not enter that same category in 2013

8. Entrants must fill out an entry form prior to the start of the competition to be a valid entry on the day. No late entries will be accepted.

9. Judges decision is final 

10. Entrants must have a full drivers licence
