Head to Trentham racecourse for Family Day as part of the  Interislander Summer Festival on Saturday 28th January featuring:

  • The $200 000   Harcourts Thorndon Mile (Group One)
  • The $70 000 Wellfield Desert Gold Stakes (Group Three)

General Admission: Adults $10

Under 18's Free when accompanied by an adult and must be supervised appropriately during the day

BUY TICKETS

Be a member for the Day. 
Members Stand tickets can be purchased for $20 each (Non Members) or Members can purchase up to two additional tickets for $15 each. Tickets purchased prior to race day include gate entry. Tickets can also be purchased on the day from the Raceday office but do not include gate entry.

PUNTERS CLUB

A $5 punters Club will be operating on races 3 until the second to last race on the day. Tickets will be available from the race day office and various totes around the course. A great way to have a little flutter without having to study the form. 

 MEMBERS DRAW

A Member on-course could take home $50 000! But you must be here to win! 

A great extra incentive for any RACEinc Racing Club members to be at Trentham! 
All you have to do is scan your Membership card to tell us that you are on course then you could win $50,000!

Simply scan in on arrival before Race 2 using your Members card (not guest card) either at the office prior to Race 1 or there will be a roving scanner through the Members stand between Race 1 and 2.
The draw with those scanned & registered will take place after Race 2 and the winner notified via the loudspeaker system then must present themselves prior to Race 3 to the race day office.
The Member must then correctly choose the winners in 4 selected races at Trentham (determined by the WRC) at least 15 minutes before the first chosen race.
If all four selections are winners, the member will take home $50 000 ! 

Trentham continues the Cup Carnival atmosphere with loads of free activities and entertainment especially for the kids.

FREE FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT INCLUDES

  • The "More FM Kids Go Racing" team and "Stirrup" the horse racing mascot
  • A free goodie bag for the Kids
  • Kids Fashion in the Field on the Forecourt stage 
  • Disneys Little Mermaid, Ariel & Friends singing on the Forecourt Stage
  • Sack Races on the Track
  • Tug or War on the Track
  • Bouncy Castles for all ages (kids only though!)
  • Stage Performances 
  • The chance to win a $250 Betting Voucher or a $500 Interislander Travel Voucher
  • Other games and activities

There will be some great food outlets available including all your old favourites, or you could bring your own picnic and chill out with a great wine or a cold beer from one of the race-day bars (No BYO).

Kids Fashion in the Field 

Under 5's Parade
Dress as your favourite Disney Character - every entrant gets a prize!
Registering is not required, however gifts are limited to the first 50 so please see your racebook for timing.

Little Miss & Master Wellington 6-11 Year Olds
This is one of our biggest Kids Fashion in the Field categories for the pre-teens so dress in "race wear" and you could take out the title for 2017. 

Miss & Master Wellington 12-17 Year Olds
This one is for the big kids, so put on your best frock or best shirt and by sticking with the "race wear" theme for this year you could be Miss or Master Teen Trentham 2017.

Register on the day, registrations will close at 2pm or when category limits are reached

Timings are to be confirmed but will be available in the racebook

TOP FLOOR MEMBERS STAND

What better way to entertain on Family Day than with the impressive views from the top level of the Members stand.

Located on Level 3 of the Members Stand our 9 Corporate Boxes are prime real estate with a view second to none at Trentham.

We have a number of different capacity boxes available starting with a 15 guests minimum.

YOUR CORPORATE BOX INCLUDES:

  • Course admission and entrance to the Members facilities at Trentham

  • Access to members carparking located off Racecourse Road 

  • Your exclusive corporate box for a minimum 15 guests set with tables, chairs and bar leaners with racebooks for each guest, televisions managed by the TAB and full views of the racecourse

  • Extensive beverage service available (beverages not included  in package)

  • Plattered luncheon

  • TAB betting facilities and toilets located via the foyer outside your exclusive corporate box 

 

PRICE:   From $50.00 incl gst per person (plattered lunch) or from $70 for a full buffet (Bronze level)

Members stand Dress Standards

FAMILY DAY MINI-MARQUEE

What a location to entertain Family and Friends on a relaxed race day at Trentham!
Located in front of the public stand, show the kids the sights and let them feel the power of the horses rushing by close up and personal!

Access to the Members Facilities included.  

Your day at Trentham includes:

  • Your 3m x 3m Mini-Marquee for 10 guests (Table, chairs and umbrella)
  • Door staff to manage your entry into the Village area
  • Extra chairs available for children if needed (including high chairs)
  • Course entry and complimentary Member Stand access for the day
  • A glass of bubbles on arrival to toast the day for the adults (10 glasses or two bottles shared for the marquee)
  • A can of soft drink or bottle of water for each child (max. 10)
  • Tote and Bar facilities available close-by (Public stand)
  • Easy access to the forecourt and Family activities

An open seating area for our Members with excellent access to the top level of the stand.

BRINGING YOUR OWN PICNIC OR SHELTER

Non-alcoholic drinks may be bought in to the course, however with the following restrictions:

-No glass bottles
-Only sealed and unopened plastic containers, or empty containers of less than 2 litres capacity that may be used as refillable water bottles are permitted.
-Empty thermos' are permitted with boiling water available in both "the Vines" and "Winning Post"cafes
-An guests bringing any opened or glass containers will be asked to return them to their vehicles if possible or confiscated and destroyed. 

Food may be brought in to the course for consumption at any public location (Public lawn, open bleachers in the Public Stand, public seating in forecourt etc) however is not permitted in the Public stand, Members Stand, Annex or any other hospitality area unless specifically stated.
-Chilly bins are permitted but must be opened for inspection on entry
-BBQ's are not permitted to be brought on to the course.
-Glass /china/ ceramic plates are not permitted

Shelter items such as cabanas may be erected on the lawn in front of the public stand (no further than 10m from the concrete walkway) with a maximum size of 3m x 3m and no walls. Please note that due to safety or consideration for others, any structure may be asked to be removed by course security. We do ask for consideration for others if erecting a shelter.

GETTING TO TRENTHAM

By Train

Leaving central Wellington every 30 minutes (5minutes past and 35 minutes past the hour), approx time from City to Trentham is 40 mins. Return trains to Wellington from Trentham also leave at 5 minutes past and 35 minutes past the hour.Click here for Metlink timetables.
Note that the Trentham pedestrian overbridge is now back in action!

By Car (& Parking)

Trentham Racecourse is located on Racecourse Road. 
Members, Owners, Jockeys & Trainers are invited to park in the Leger Car Park at the Northern end of the course.

Public parking on Family Day is available in the Members Carpark (150m past turnstiles on Racecourse Road) and surrounding areas.
